タマラは2002年に劇場公開され、世界各国の映画祭でも絶賛された長編アニメーション『TAMALA2010〜a punk cat in space』によって誕生した子ネコのヒロインです。「生まれたときから１歳。死ぬまで１歳」という奇妙な運命を背負ったタマラは日本よりもヨーロッパ、アメリカ、南アメリカの諸国でカルトなキャラクターとして絶大な人気を誇りました。本作は、国際生物多様性年である今年、環境保全団体であるＷＷＦジャパンの協力によって製作された『タマラ』シリーズ待望の最新映像作品です。

タマラは世界で最後のミツバチ、クロノスケに連れられて太古から未来へと時間の旅をしながら、動植物がその多様性を広げながら進化し、やがて文明によって絶滅の危機に瀕していく地球を、子ネコの視点で描いていきます。タマラの出自のなかに本来持っていた死と再生の物語が、自然の生態系のテーマのなかに組み込まれています。またエンディング曲『名もなき種』は中国・四川省出身の若き歌姫alan。exスーパーカーで、9mm Parabellum Bulletやチャットモンチー、Superflyのプロデュース・作詞でヒットメーカーとなったいしわたり淳治が作詞、alan自身とレコード大賞受賞作曲家の菊池一仁が作曲を手がけ、タマラからのメッセージを感動的に歌っています。


In 2002 year, the feature animation 『TAMALA 2010〜a punk cat in space』was released and in which the heroin TAMALA has been born. The film exhibited in the many international film festivals and acclaimed its originality. And in 2010, the new film project started cooperated with one of the world most famous environmental preservation fund, WWF Japan. 『Wake up!! TAMALA』 depicts the vision of the crisis which has been destroying the biodiversity by human civilization during the poetic time travel with TAMALA. The subject of death and rebirth, as the place of origin of its concept, has been set in this film with the perspective of the nature conservation.
